Privacy, Terms & Accessibility
PitchKiwi is a solo-built app. This page says plainly what data exists, where it lives, and what you're agreeing to. It isn't legal advice, and if anything here is unclear, ask before you buy.
Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
PitchKiwi's speech recognition and text cleanup run entirely on your Mac. Your voice recordings, transcripts, and dictation history are never uploaded, transmitted, or stored anywhere but your own device.
We don't have accounts
There is no PitchKiwi account, no email address on file, no password, and no server of ours holding your data. PitchKiwi is a one-time $16.99 purchase, unlocked with a license key issued by Gumroad.
The one network call the app makes on its own
| What | When |
|---|---|
| License check | Once when you activate, then roughly every 7 days, to confirm your license key is valid |
This request sends only your license key and PitchKiwi's product ID to Gumroad's licensing API — nothing else about you or your Mac. If you're offline, the app stays unlocked for up to 30 days since the last successful check before it asks again.
What never leaves your Mac
- Audio you record while dictating
- Transcripts and dictation history
- Your personal dictionary and snippets
- Anything typed or spoken into another app through PitchKiwi
Third parties
| Service | What it sees |
|---|---|
| Gumroad | At purchase: your email and payment details, to process the sale and issue your license key, under Gumroad's own privacy policy. At activation and every ~7 days after: just your license key and our product ID, via its public licensing API. |
| huggingface.co | A request for a speech model file, only when you choose to download one |
| Update server | A version check, only if you enable automatic update checks |
Gumroad is the merchant of record for your purchase and collects your email and payment info independently of us, under its own privacy policy. We never receive or store that information ourselves.
Data retention and deletion
On your Mac, PitchKiwi stores a small local record in Keychain: a hash of your license key and the timestamp of your last successful check. Choosing "Deactivate this Mac" in Settings clears it. We hold no copy of this anywhere else, because we have nowhere to hold it.
Children's privacy
PitchKiwi is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the "Last updated" date above will change. Since we have no email on file for you, check back here for updates.

Accessibility Statement
We want this site and the PitchKiwi app to be usable by as many people as possible, including people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, or who need higher-contrast text.
- This site targets WCAG 2.1 AA color contrast for body text and interactive elements.
- All interactive elements are keyboard-reachable and show a visible focus outline.
- Images and icons that carry meaning include text alternatives.
If you hit a page or a part of the app that's hard to use with assistive technology, tell us specifically what happened and where — that's the fastest way for a one-person project to actually fix it. Reach out via @AhmedYsrrr.
Terms of Use
Last updated: September 2026
The app
PitchKiwi is closed-source, proprietary software distributed as a signed macOS application. Buying a license grants a personal, non-transferable license to run PitchKiwi, unlocked with your Gumroad license key. You may not redistribute, resell, decompile, or reverse-engineer the app.
Purchase & license key
- PitchKiwi is $16.99, one time. No subscription, no recurring charge.
- Your purchase is processed entirely by Gumroad, our merchant of record, under Gumroad's own terms. Gumroad emails you a license key after checkout.
- Your license key activates the app on one Mac at a time. To move to a new Mac, use "Deactivate this Mac" in Settings on the old machine first, then activate on the new one with the same key.
- Refunds are handled through Gumroad's standard refund process. Reach out if something went wrong — this is a one-person project and edge cases get handled by hand.
No warranty
PitchKiwi is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. It's a small, independently built app; use your judgment before relying on it for anything critical, and always double-check dictated text before it's sent, run, or committed anywhere.
Changes
These terms may change as the product changes. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
